This delicious buttercream frosting is perfect for cakes and cupcakes!
Ingredients

- 5 cups unsalted butter
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon almond extract (optional)
- 1 pinch salt
- gel food coloring (optional)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, beat 5 cups unsalted butter until smooth and creamy, about 2 minutes.
- Gradually add 2 cups powdered sugar, starting on low speed then increasing to medium-high until fully mixed.
- Add 2 tablespoons heavy cream, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, and 1/4 teaspoon almond extract. Beat until fluffy and smooth.
- Adjust consistency: add a teaspoon of cream if too thick or 1 tablespoon powdered sugar if too thin.
- Tint with gel food coloring as desired and mix until evenly colored.
Notes
- This frosting can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week.
- Bring the frosting to room temperature before using.
